Woohooo! I can finally post this one, now that it was published as a cover of annual Magic City Con BioWare ZEEN magazine!

About Fenris... I found his character quite fascinating - he's struggling not only with his painful past, but also with himself. It's shown especially when Fenris is Hawke's lover. In this art enslaved Fenris, who received lyrium markings, is the foundation - that Fenris is always present, what happened to him shaped the man we meet during the game. Fenris does not know freedom, he does not remember where he came from, he knows himself only as a slave and runaway hunted by his master. I think what truly changes him is Hawke's love - the figure of Fenris with red ribbon tied around his arm, rising from his bent former self, confident, finally believing that he deserves love and new life, the one learning what freedom means. But even then he is still connected with his past, he cannot let go, his fingers are entangled with fingers of the slave, he pulls his broken self up slightly. Warrior Fenris is the one that we see in the game, the harsh, unforgiving and vengeful one - he wishes to cut away from his past, destroy the slave within him, he's afraid to love and to be loved - that Fenris is the surface.
