Second piece in my slashed fairytales. My OCs, Kain as the Beast I love those spooky Venetian masks! and Cillian as his beautiful prey. Loved drawing long hair on Cillian
who I think will be willing to put down that knife when he realizes how hot the beast behind that mask is
Oh and I just love Japanese folklore demons, so I turned the main Beauty in the Beast cursed servants into traditional tsukumogami Sleeping Beauty with my OCs [link]

Hehe, thanks Profiles have always been my weakness, idk... maybe I should just take an hour and draw a million profiles to figure it out...maybe when I get back to the west coast and have free time *sigh* Glad you like how this one turned out though

I do, I do! Practice does help. Maybe instead of a million profiles, try drawing two or three closer profile pictures of your characters for the practice?

Hmmmm, I will totally do that. I've never drawn large portraits like you do, but I probably should do that for my OCs just as doodles to get their features correct. Thanks for the advise

Well I was going for a more art nouveau design to it actually...but I do love rococo chairs...why dont' they look good in normal homes though, I'd have to own a mansion or something so I can get one! I wanted it to look like it might be alive actually

I like the chaps on Cill's shoes. But his fingers are kind of too long, considering the grip he has on knife and Kain's hands. I miss muscles there.

Haha, ya I know it's an odd angel, but I wanted to keep it true to the original Beauty and the Beast watercolor illustration I was referencing, plus you can see the design on it better than from a more side view

Finger is usually to nose and hand is usually 3/4 of face while fingers

Ah I see. Well...I always use my hands for reference...and I guess they are proportionally longer than most or something, but whatevs, maybe that's why I like long slender hands

I know, I mean, I know Clamp's old style was more 90s, but I think it was much more artistic and beautiful. The new style is too boring. RGVeda, X, and TB were soooo good *sigh* the height of their awesomeness!

I know that it also comes with preferences. Not all drawings need to be perfect with anatomy, of course we're just people and we create image up to our preferences.
I really miss those big nice eyes. Sparkling and with neat lashes. I always liked MRK because of that. And Angel Sanctuary as well as Alichino (not Clamp, ofc). Chobits was something new, but Chii and all her pretty laced dresses compensated the line for me. Now all characters look weird. I really miss RGVeda style... *wish she had that manga in paperback*
