Thank you. I just mess around in the shop. I'm looking forward to more knives. I wish I could do them.

I just happen to come across a bunch of it at one time. Everything I turn except for pens is 'green.' Meaning just found or taken down tree's. The Spalted Maple just was something I was coming across.
I'll be having a bit more Cherry and Cherry burl here soon.

That's cool. I'm part of a logging business in New York, my father comes across a lot of spalted maple every now and then. I'm a beginner at wood turning and have some of my own bowls and now a lathe of my own. If you're interested, we have large sums of extra wood pieces after marking and trimming log links, you can get your hands on some depending on your location.

I'm always interestd in getting wood. Most anything but pine and oak I will try to turn.
When your looking for pieces keep an eye out for burls and good crotch pieces. You'll find those to be great to turn.

How about tamarack? We're doing a 5 acre lot of just tamarack.
Dad and I have a bundle of crotch pieces found and eyes out for burls.

Well nice to see someone not just turning the same old stuff--your wood color & variety is most interesting--would you like to look at some different wood species-- I have a large collection of Australian Tropical Wood from Rainforest to Dry Savannah--Maybe there could be something that might interest You in my gallery
