They remind me of the Adam Hook paintings that are displayed on so many Mesoamerica related websites.

Hello and thank you for the watch, I'm a big fan of your art, love the way you bring back to life the ancients civilizations of America, based on archaeological facts. Let me tell you that I am an archaeologist working in the Maya area, and my father make some artworks fir our investigations on Rock Art, that are similar to yours. Thanks a lot for this great link and very interesting interview. Indeed, the petroglyphs are very similar. My drawing is based on a petroglyph near the Guaymi de Coto Brus reservation. Seems to be a widespread style. I would love to see the petroglyphs in the drawing you sent me.

I'm interested in Rock Art, ceramics, and Iconographic analysis and recording of Mayan Art.
About the petroglyphs, I can send you some pictures if you want, It will be interesting to compare the styles in a wider region.

My region of interests are the Central Andes, but regarding the illustrations I am currently involved in projects focusing on Central America. I'm interested in visual culture, cognitive anthropology/archaeology, everything, that can be caught with the sense of the eyes. Of course, I would be very interested in the pictures, and also to compare them. Can we get in contact on academia.edu?
You are definitely right that reconstruction drawings - yours, mine, and those of other artists - can be a vehicle of knowledge and are useful in keeping up the memory of these great cultures, as long as they are based on scientific data. I even would go a step further namely the fact that such illustrations have the power to decolonize.
