Wow! Blind blown. I wish I could think of a more sophisticated way of saying it, but my mental status has virtually ebbed away thanks to Economics. Overall, I find your artwork fantastic! :]
(Yet you're a music major? Say what?)

LoL!
Yes I'm a music major, but I love art as well. I'm torn between the two...It's a tough life jk
Thank you! I appreciate your feedback! I will have to check out your gallery as well yes!

Ahh, quite so! Yet again, it must be quite the gift being able to produce both music and art with such talent. Do you by chance enjoy creative writing?
My problem is that I find such joy in writing poems, prose, and yet, I am quite helpless when I try to bleed any thoughts out onto a canvas. Such joy is found when a writer can see his/her writings brought to life through illustration.
I'm curious though, which instrument are you majoring for? (Guitar is the best, you know!)

I do enjoy writing, but my sister is the one who is a poet...She's the writer and I'm the musician/illustrator!
I think your photography that I saw was very beautiful! Very good points of perspective and a nice eye. I think drawing doesn't have to be "good;" you just need to feel good about it.
I am majoring in flute, but I also sing and play the piano...I have a Fender, but I only know 3 chords!

acousticphoto In reply to j-mae [2010-01-13 06:05:48 +0000 UTC]
Oh dear! I do hope that they are power chords at least.
But to help encourage you,for the first year that I played guitar, I would only play the three chords that I felt comfortable with: G, C, and D. I would try to convince my teacher that every song that one could play could be held within the convenience of the three positions I felt comfortable with.
And though I've now realized that there were 19 or so frets I was neglecting, I still believe that some of the best pieces of music comes from the first three I ever learned.
Hmm.. piano and singing as well? I feel like someone's trying to flatter me! Sounds like a fantastic array of talent though. Where did you say you were attending music school?
And thank you! Your words are very sweet. If you ever travel and see some random white guy lying awkwardly on his back under a tree trying to get a photo, then it's probably me (just an fyi).

No it's the truth! You are very talented!
I just got my BA from a private college in MN this year and have put in my application for the U of M just this month so I can keep going! I am waiting to audition and see if I am accepted! Fingers crossed!
LOL G, C, D, and e are the only chords I know! But you are right, there are a good number of songs that you can play with just those! My hands are really small though! It is kind of hard to reach wider positions!
LoL if I did see you, I would be sure not to disturb you until after you were done under the tree

Thanks Mae.
When is your audition? I am very familiar with U of M and the north Midwestern area. (I practically live there) And, I am considering U. Wisconsin, Madison for next Fall, but I am still working the logistics with it all.
G C D E are the best--true story! And, you know, a ukulele could work if you are looking for something a little smaller! (haha) Or you could buy a handy-dandy Capo and play a few frets down. It makes the music sound a little chipmunky, but sweet nevertheless.
And about your offer with the tree, thanks! Although, whenever I'm in awkward positions taking photos, I like to pull friends along my side and go "Hey! Come here and look through this lense!" So, in the end, we both end up sprawled under the tree trying to get the perfect photo. It's great how things sometimes end up oddly like that.
Best wishes for your audition--I'll be praying for you!
-Cole

I audition in February! So soon! I really need to practice more...haha
I've been to Madison, but I haven't seen their college at all. I just know that their mascot is the badger! LoL I guess that's about as cool as a gopher (for the U of M)! Good luck with applications and everything if you decide on it. Would you be going for writing? Photography?
A ukulele would be fun! But I feel like I should stick it out with the guitar since I already own it...what I should really do is take lessons so I feel motivated! We'll see...
And it sounds like a lot of fun to take pictures with you! LoL! It's nice that you can include your friends in your photography ventures

That's a start!
Well, being the Wisconsin cheeseheads make it that more cool, but it's too bad that the Packers aren't moving on further this year. Do you watch football much? (The Vikings are still alive you know!)
Thanks for the wishes, I really do appreciate it. And as for degrees, I plan on studying Int'l Studies and Creative Writing. I thoroughly enjoy the English programs that Madison offs, so we'll see!
Let me know if there's any way that I can help with the guitar-learning process. I became one of those defiant chaps who had a teacher and then decided to self-teach after a few months... maybe it has something to do with attempting to be the boss of my own schedule.. anyway, I didn't turn out to be TOO rotten by doing so. Guitar just takes REGULAR practice, that's just about all there is to it.
Haha, I'm not sure if my friends are always willing, so maybe that's why I'm up for befriending adventurers, eh? I went to live in Japan last summer with some break-dancers..it was quite the journey!
I feel like I have a bucket of stories waiting to be poured out.
Cheerio!
