My half of the quickie (under five minutes) art trade with ~Silharai who requested a black horse with a star.Okay, so the star isn't visible...but she's made with black ink.

She makes me think of a kelpie from Celtic mythology, even though she isn't white. She looks like she would certainly lure in unsuspecting passers-by!

No, more like ability.
That's always been a philosophy of mine when it comes to ink. I can't change what's already on the paper, I can only try to work with what already exists by making choices (which will also be permanent once they are made) about how to move forward. If I fail and the end result isn't pretty then well, that's that. You win some, you lose some. Try try try again.
It's like sports photography, most of the shots aren't going to be pretty, things happen, a stick gets in the way, a ref blocked your shot, etc., but the more shots you take, the more practice you get, the more likely you are to chance upon something great.
It's a marriage of what you can and cannot control, art is. "Failure" is more about what you DID NOT do, rather than what you could not do.
