Very impressive! I particularly enjoy the subtleties, such as how the coat is longer in the back than it is in the front, and its extremely simple yet extravagent design! Also, the single sleeve is a nice touch. Not having any clothing over your sword-arm improves maneuverability, yes? Love it. Especially since the sleeve also kind of looks like a half-cape, which I also love. All in all, an excellent design!

Nicely noted. ;] Thank you.
It was my intention to create an elegant and stylish, but still largely functional piece for my character to wear during tournaments.
The sleeve and epaulette are a separate piece which is tied on by looping the gold cord around the collar and under the arm. The entire ensemble works as light armor for a fencing unit, being made of supple, red-dyed leather with black wool sewn over it and stitched with gold thread.
To quote the passage in which she is first described:
Rhaeis pulled a sturdy gauntlet over her left hand, working her fingers into the supple leather with a satisfying series of tiny squeaks. They were a deep maroon, like the color of her vest, well-oiled and neatly trimmed with gold embroidery. She held the other glove for a moment, then folded it back into her bag. One would be enough for show - she wanted to win this one, and the wire-wrapped rayskin grip of her tournament foil always felt better in a bare hand.
The fencer was always considerably well-dressed, and she made a point of it especially during matches in the arena. Not that appearances mattered very much to her, but she felt obligated to look good every once in awhile, especially if she won. Sebryi had helped press the padded frock vest last night, and some starch made the already-stiff collars peak like embroidered walls along the sides of her face. There was a reason for her dress - every part of it, in fact - beyond just the looks.
The high collar was of a thick material, flipped out and doubled to reveal a rich crimson color. They stood, like sentinels, surrounding the back and sides of her face nearly to the ear. In a fight, they could save her from glancing blows to the head.
On her left shoulder was a tasseled epaulette wrapped with worked gold thread. Below lay two jointed plates of leather fastened to a heavy sleeve of black wool. It was an uncomfortable wear - especially on warm days against her bare skin - but served as lightweight armor. The unintended plus - it made a dramatic flourish when she moved.
Durable, but not cumbersome, canvas was the chosen material for her inner shirt. It was loosely laced in the front, barely to her collarbones, and would have exposed a bit of cleavage if she had had any to show. It was a sleeveless affair - sleeves always had the tendency to hamper mobility, though it left her fairly unprotected.
To the fencer, trousers had always shown themselves to be more maneuverable and practical. They never caught or snagged on passing shrubbery, and they invited a closer, more aerodynamic fit. Her matching boots and lightly-armored greaves kept the flapping cuffs out of the way and protected the weak, bony parts of her knees and shins.
Last, but not least, was the vest; the pride of her wardrobe. Maroon and black to disguise blood, the form-fitting vestment was a clever and unique combination of hide and wool. The leather itself had been dyed red, left exposed where the sewn wool did not cover it. The tails covered to roughly mid-thigh and swooped back a little further behind her. Though she did not look it, Rhaeis was, in fact, very-well equipped. Her outfit was practically a miniature suit of armor.

On the backside...the X at the seam looks a little...out of place. But maybe that's just me.
Nice job as always!

Ya, the angle's off, but I want it to match with the X lacing on the sides.

LOL Indeed. But I love the coat too much to give up on it. XD It's not like she wears it all the time, though. It's mostly just for show.

How do you draw middle-age clothing so well?

LOL I love European 18th century fashion. Well, most of it, anyway. Rhae is horrendously out of her timeline, but I had to give her something nice to wear for her tournaments.
