Description
The original Thor sketch was created by Andrea Errico *xavor85 He also did a color version that sparked my attention. I thought it would be fun to play with it and add some paint too.It's half-baked version without polished details since my main concern was to provide sort of visual feedback. It's unusual for dA but quite common on cg boards.

I love the glow around the hammer and Thor's eyes! the gritty rough finish also adds to the anger. So good. I did one as well, no where near as good as yours and Xavor85's. I am learning photoshop and painting at the same time. great to see this done. When painting, how do you do the glow effect around the hammer?

You can use some brush with blending mode switched to overlay or dodge etc. Make sure you've a dark background so your brushstrokes would be visible.

Really got impact. But is difficult found images which not remind us of the Marvel comics version of this character, and more close to the mythological version.

This pic is amazing. VERY very powerful in one glance. Its seems like the current thor, Powered up in a older stage, He resembles Odin very much. This would be an amazing image of him in a future story, A final battle against Loki perhaps. One shall stand, One shall fall. Thank you for this portrait.

both the pencil piece and this paint are great but I think this is stronger and has a better energy and more life. I really like the way you rendered the armor and you color choices.
