I had this cover art in mind, and I finally found time to do it (partly because I'm having writer's block )... and it is another piece for my ongoing fanfic about Maeglin re-embodied as an elfmaid in Imladris in the Third Age (on Fanfiction.net and on Archive of Our Own ).

This was enjoyable to work on, now that I'm getting better at MyPaint and improving my drawing/painting skills. I think this fic is sweet and silly and sometimes serious, so I wanted to try something in the style of a parody of an epic movie poster, just for fun. Initially it was more comical, with cartoonish orcs getting slaughtered, maidens clinging to Glorfindel like fangirls, and Maeglin brandishing the reforged Narsil... but in the end it turned out... well, like this... Initially I squeezed Elrond, Gandalf, Lindir, Aragorn, Thranduil, Legolas, Bilbo, Finrod, Earendil, Vingilot, Ecthelion, Aredhel, Eol and Nan Elmoth into the original sketch, but that turned into a mega-mess and made the picture way too busy... and I got way too tired Plus to be honest, I don't think I handle comical well. It's an art! But I think most peeps would have been more interested in seeing the original concept than this overly serious one.

[I must say that one problem I always have is that a lot of the detail and the resolution of my paintings gets lost once I convert to either PNG or JPG format. Anyone with a fix for that? I'd be super grateful. I did shrink down the picture because it was twice the size. Maybe I shouldn't have?]
