Description
Who doesn't love ospreys?
Saw my first wild one while in Egypt in 2011. Got really excited.
Then, on a trip to Florida in 2014, I saw so many that I lost count!
While most of the birds I draw are ones I personally work with, I do have to make the odd exception every now and then.
Oh! Please excuse the watermark. I forgot to post this at the end of last year, when this was completed. ^^;

What a beautiful osprey sketch, I love all the feather details and I'm so impressed you managed to do this in traditional. I really like your drawing style for this sort of realism, especially the white highlights. I like the osprey's expression, since he looks annoyed by something which appeals to me and the added expressiveness adds to the picture I think. I like how "messy" the feathers on the wings look, as that's very natural and it shows you had the patience to draw each feather accurately. Great drawing overall!

Haha yes! I'm glad you noticed the feathers; I ended up making them with a bunch of scribbles because of how messy they often looked so I'm happy you picked up on that

I really wanna have a go at drawing different animals traditionally too. Pencil always seems to be the thing I work best in though; as soon as I try to work in colour it's just not the same. D:
But my aim for this year is to push my pencil work.
