AT LAAAAST. The building of the Blue Lude Bar. Gotta have a montage, right? Haha. Well, please enjoy this lighthearted bit of the story while it lasts.
New watchers: This is the latest installment of my paper soul, Small Comics. It's about Fate, the Devil, and a young girl by the name of Kara Quentin's struggle to survive and understand them.
Currently we're in a flashback, but you can read it from the beginning here !
For the old crowd: Thanks as always for tuning in. I can't tell you how awesome it is to have readers like you after all this time. Not to mention all the delays! All I can do is keep hacking away at telling this story and hope it's worth your while.

Woooohoooo! Finally got around to reading it! Great as usual, and I absolutely love the montage! All the twenties scenery and stuff is really nice! Still gotta wait to figure out what Othello is keeping track of though???

Actually I think it's nicer to read a big chunk in a go than get 3 pages a week. I don't like reading one page a time when the story is long and complicated, and I'm way too restless to not read a page when I know it's on the internet. ^^

That's very true, some update schedules work better for long-form webcomics than short ones. Glad you think the chapter blocks work for mine. :] Just gotta keep working on getting it done!

i cannot begin to tell you how excited I was to see this in my inbox.
gah. so much to comment on. The building of the Lude! Milo is quite the skilled guy. I love how Othello is keeping score between Milo and "Lucy", and found it quite sweet to see both Othello and, later, her help out with the construction. I also spotted Machs before his name was dropped...nice lil flashback cameo there.
The art here is so tight too, especially compared to earlier instalments of Small Comics. That one large panel of everyone in the bar is fantastic, it must have taken forever to do, but well worth the effort. I also like how the colours move from the overarching browns and sepias of the flashback to the brighter colours of happier times as we edge ever so slightly closer to the present.
and now, Fate has arrived. The stage is set. The actors are in place. Now we await the raising of the curtain...

So great to hear you're enjoying both story and art as time goes on. SC has a serious case of art evolution, it's kinda hard for me to look at older chapters haha. Glad that big ole' timesuck of a panel worked out though! I wish I could make every panel look great, but getting it right here and there where it's important is good enough for me.
