EDIT: I've had some time now to go back in with oils and touch a few things up! Added some green to the background to tone it down a little, added more details to the cheek and added some yellow to the neck and shoulder to warm it up. I think the complementary color in the background makes a world of a difference. I think it's safe to say I'm finally done with this (and that I officially love oil paints).

MERRY CHRISTMAS =Parabuteo78 !!! I apologize for not getting this finished by Christmas Day, but at least it's before January 1st, eh?

She requested a realistic portrait or a race scene of either Zenyatta or Tuscan Evening and I decided to go the traditional route...so glad I did, and HOLY COW YOU GUYS. I think it's safe to say my muse is BACK. O_O

I did this whole thing in less than a day... sketched it all out and blocked in the main colors last night and then I started painting the smaller shapes and details early this afternoon. And now I'm DONE and it's not even 3pm. There may be a few tiny things I go back and touch up within the next week or so but I am just so, so pleased.

And I must say this would not have been possible without *Blue3Eyes9Blue , who was gracious enough to let me use one of her beautiful photographs as a reference:
