HISTORY
Before she was born, her family tree was already messy from the start. Both of her parents are purebloods, but there is some peculiarity on her dad’s side, Santiago Lopez. When he was little, his mother passed away. His father was constantly busy and had no time for him, so the main caregiver was his step-mother, a no-maj born. She was a kind woman, and raised him closely, making sure everything was perfect for her son. This got him accustomed to no-maj life, and in the end preferred it since his father had been so cold and distant to him.

Fast forward to the future, Santiago married a pure-blooded woman named Bianca Gonzalez. Together, they had a very pretty girl (Anastasia), and raised her happily until she was around 4 years old. They had a nasty divorce, Santiago not agreeing with Bianca on how to raise her. Since Santiago was raised so strangely, he felt great distaste towards using magic to raise their daughter, and wanted a more natural way of parenting. Bianca, completely not understanding his point of view, would constantly fight with him about how he’s being unreasonable and that it’s in their nature to use magic for everything they do.

In the end, Santiago maintained custody of Anastasia, since he was able to support her financially instead of her mother. After 2 years, he married another woman named Claire Miller. Their parenting styles matched up nicely, Claire quickly adopting Anastasia as her own daughter, since she had trouble having a daughter herself. Their bonding manifested into dress up and shopping, which later progressed into pageantry. At this point in her life, all the competition and glamour completely took over her life, down to her thought process and ambitions. Originally, she wanted to become a makeup artist or a stylist, probably both since she was an overachiever, but this quickly changed.

Santiago had been hiding his magic from Claire, not wanting to scare her, since she was a religious woman and didn’t want to seem he was into the satanic witchcraft she was always so afraid about. But eventually, Anastasia’s true nature resurfaced. Claire noticed that every time she would get upset, objects would move out of her way no matter what. At first, she thought Anastasia was possessed, but after many… many exorcisms, talking to priests, and holy water.. They just chalked it up for her to have a God given gift. When she was gushing about it to Santiago, he finally broke and explained it to her that he can do magic, as well as his daughter. Stunned, she didn’t know what to do at first, but then decided it was best to encourage her to pursue her ‘gift’ more. When Anastasia was sent her acceptance letter, Claire was overjoyed and urged her to go, no matter how grumpy Santiago was about the decision.

And now her school life at a strange new magical school begins.
