Description

This is a rotating space station with a radius of 180 meters, requiring a slightly above 2 rotations per minute angular velocity. It was constructed as a static habitat in remote regions. Typically, it would be in a stable orbit or at Lagrange points. Given its lack of propulsion, it isn't designed for interstellar voyages.

Diverging from the known designs of rotating wheel space stations from the 1950s, 1960s, and earlier, the majority of the inner space is allocated for trees and other plant life. Therefore, offices and labs find their place in the rims around the toroidal shape of the station. A bit like a Stanford torus, but smaller.

Clearly, this image draws significant inspiration from the impressive works of Donald Davis, such as this piece here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanford… . It's astonishing to see the vision they had half a century ago.

Blender/Cycles. Plants from Blenderkit and Plant Library. Lighting ideas from Tobi. Rest done by me.
