Description
Just a bit of RP with Artoveli Long story short, Thanks to the Kindred Pact Flyspur has another human relation; a nephew, Tertio.
“Uncle Flyspur?” Tertio began delicately. He felt like he needed to make Him aware of what he knew. “Uh... Kid-Rover told me about the situation on your planet... about you being... a Third.” He said it gently. “And... even though you’re a different kind of Third than I am, and I don’t know everything you went through... well...” He looked down and shrugged. “Maybe it doesn’t mean that much, but... one Third to another, I think you’re a great person. In fact, you’re... my hero.”
Flyspur stopped in his tracks and looked down at Tertio, his eyes widening and his soul spots darkening. He just stood there silently for a moment, the sea wind rustling his tail. When he finally spoke his voice cracked a bit. "Tertio....that means everything." He took a few steps before stopping again. "I...I would like to show you something. A part of Jssfloon culture. If...you're interested."
Tertio looked up again at Flyspur’s acceptance of his awkward words, and smiled. His smile broadened at His offer. “Y-Yeah! Definitely!”
"It's a greeting...well. It's more than that. Here..." Flyspur held up both upper hands. The greeting involved the lower ones as well, but that would have to be omitted in the human's case. "Put your hands against mine." When Tertio did so Flyspur moved his fingers so they laced with his Nephew's. Then he bent slightly forward and touched their foreheads. He smiled a little and then pulled back, squeezing Tertio's hands just a bit as he let go and started back toward the shuttle. "That's a family greeting and an expression of sentiment. It's ONLY performed between family members. And there is a slight variation for very close friends. It's like...." He paused, searching for the right analogy. "...a hug."
Tertio felt tears well up, again. He couldn’t speak, but he smiled and gulped and nodded. He followed a bit behind Flyspur, quietly wiping at his eyes and nose. He was wearing short sleeves today which, in retrospect, had maybe been a bad idea.
