So... How about that "Change your mind"-special, huh...I feel like I lost multiple years of my life watching it, only to get them all back at the end. What a ride.
So let's talk about White Diamond, who is now officially the creepiest son of a gun in the entire show. And while Yellow still holds the spot of my favourite Diamond, especially after all the development she went through in this special, White is by far the most intimidating one.Β
The way she takes full control of other gems and strips them of their free will and emotions, or as she calls it "impurities", is chilling. And the entire scene with her and Steven was the most tense the show's ever gotten for me. Jezus Christ, the imagery in that scene... I feel sorry for all the kids who watched this, holy crap.
But of course all good things come to an end, and in true Steven Universe fashion, of course at the end she got redeemed. For the most part. There's still a lot of stuff to clean up on Homeworld, which is probably what we'll be spending the last season on. I love how this special's entire purpose was, among other things, to show the Diamonds that the way they've been doing things doesn't only not work, but is also harmful to the gems, their Homeworld, and even the Diamonds themselves. Considering all the crap they had to work through in these 40 minutes the writers did a pretty damn good job. Kudos to them.

I've watch a bit of Voltron when it came out, and it's pretty good. At first. After a while things get kinda meh, so I stopped watching, and I read something happened in the final season that pissed a lot of fans off, but I'm not sure what exactly. The internet can be very vague sometimes.

Actually, according to the Crewniverse, there's one more season planned. And there's still the movie coming.
That's why the fandom's going nuts speculating now, as this clearly felt like a series finale, and nobody really knows where they will take it from here.

As for what's to follow, I'm thinking there'll be some focus on the cluster. You don't build a weapon that size unless you have a target already in mind.

Yeah, I figure it'll be something like that as well. Defusing a lot of the proverbial bombs Homeworld's been making. There were a lot of bubbled gem experiments inside the chamber that Yellow was holding the Crystal Gems in as well. There's no way Steven is okay with that. But I guess it's also possible that the movie will set up a new villain or threat.

How did you felt about Steven's Gem Form, especially with that entire scene of it?

It was very chilling but also very heartwarming. It proves once and for all that Pink Diamond, as we knew her, is gone completely. She became Steven. So it made perfect sense to me that separating his gem from him would result in another Steven. However, it also showed clearly how incomplete they are without eachother. Steven was about to die right there because without his gem his body just didn't work the way it should. And his gem form showed no sign of emotion despite clearly feeling them (the shout). So only when they were reunited could they be happy and become complete. It was a very deep scene.

That really makes sense. It's like the idea of light and darkness in a weird sense. Steven's human body being weak but still having a good heart and full of emotions, where as "Gem Form" Steven is more powerful, but is empty without his other half. Kinda sorta like the two souls idea in Dust: An Elysian Tale, if you heard of that game.

3rd The Diamonds will definitely appear somewhere in the future, though I haven't figured out how yet.
4th I honestly don't know what to think, since we've seen so little of it. Once we get a full trailer I'll have a better idea to form an opinion. as for season 6, I'm guessing we'll mostly be tying op loose ends. Try to fix Homeworld, free the humans in the Zoo, deal with the Cluster and other fusion experiments. Stuff like that.

Yeah, I've seen that idea float around on Tumblr. And I don't know. I think it would be neat to see a teenage Steven and Connie. Especially considering Steven's character arc has been completed. So seeing him grow a little and deal with the problems that come with that might be interesting. Not sure I'd like adult Steven though. A lot of his charm comes from his young way of thinking so if we do a time skip I'd say two or three years at most.
I don't think they'll do that though. It's probably gonna be about Homeworld evolving and adapting to the new way of life.

It was nuts and I loved it. Out of the Steven + Crystal Gems fusion I'd say Rainbow Quartz 2.0 is my favourite. Though of course Obsidian stole the show and is probably my favourite fusion of the whole show right after Stevonnie. She was badass.Β

Welp, that's Steven Universe for you. Then again, while I wish we could've spend a little more time on Homeworld, I'm glad they didn't drag the whole thing out either. They had a problem, they immediately tried finding solutions. It wasn't like with the Malachite situation where it took them a season's worth of episodes before they finally resolved that.

Not so much his, as his Pink form's fury. (Which I guess is his too, in a sense) That took me by surprise. We've never really seen Steven show any form of rage, and to hear it come from this seemingly emotionless version of him was shocking. Threw me for one hell of a loop.

I liked this episode, overall. Some things felt rushed, but considering all they had to do and how little time they had to do it, I think it turned out pretty well. This feels like a pretty natural finale, so I'm curious to see where the show goes from here.
