Description
This is Mimic my new dragon scale halfmoon siamese fighting fish (Betta Splenden). In this photo he looks quite blue, but his scales are really quite turquoise in colour. Unfortunately Mimic has quite a lot of fin damage. Personally I think he looks like he has been in a fight, but his breeder claims that he must have been tail biting during the journey - but he has lost a lot of finnage including from his dorsal. Whatever, I just hope it heals. The damage isn't really obvious in this photo, which was partially the point of it's upload, but also his face is so beautiful and angelic in this photo that it had to be put up :3Mimic lives in a 10g compartment in a divided 20gallon tank.

Isn't he? :3 I really hope his fins make some recovery. He has a beautiful personality too, not seen him flare once, even when Orc is flaring at him!

Wow, how do you find such gorgeous bettas? All of your bettas are just really stunning.
His fins will heal and grow back. My female betta fins always gets ripped and they heal within 2 days. But his will take longer than 2 days obviously

They're mainly all imports. Though there is a great little community on Facebook of UK betta enthusiasts and breeders and there are some seriously beautiful fish to be found on there.
I'm sure his fins will heal in time, can't wait to start seeing some progress on them

It wasn't easy getting a photo which I thought did Mimic justice, believe me. I have a lot of scrap ones ^_^ I give the glass a clean both inside and out, I covered the back of his tank with a black shirt because the lighting isn't great in his tank - all of them were coming out with a really bright and washed out background. Then my boyfriend added the little name tag when it was taken off the SD card. No idea how ^_^
