Description Maxwell had an old tattoo of his ex's name on his ankle. We decided to tattoo it scribbled out sharpie style and add the culprit sharpie itself as well.

too bad you've never been tattooed by me to see that my tattoos heal perfectly.
His tattoo is well healed and still looks flawless, blackest blacks and whitest whites.

But thanks for the compliment!

don't get me wrong, but from what I heard you can't get a pure black after it heal, what inks are you using?

Oh, it's cool )
Tattoos and the healing of them is a very controversial topic. The long term success of the color(s) in a tattoo ENTIRELY depends on SEVERAL factors:
- the artist and how they tattoo
- the types of ink(s) used
- the clients skin type and the moisture content
- if there is a lot of unprotected exposure to the sun long-term
- how well the client performed his/her aftercare WHILE the tattoo is initially healing
- how diligent the client is with the long term aftercare of a tattoo (sunblock if you're in the sun and daily moisturizer)

It sucks that there are so many things beating against the battle for amazing tattoo work, but that's why you don't go "price shopping" for an artist which will only end you up in the chair of a less than competent artist at a sub-par shop just to get that $200 tattoo for $75. THEN if you really give a crap about your tattoo even after you got it bargain basement then you end up spending that much if not more to inevitably end up in the chair of the higher priced artist who will have to fix it and bring it up to par to a tattoo you will walk out the door loving now, next week, next month, and forever and will age and grow the best way that the skilled artist can do.

Another thing that can potentially contribute to how well black ink looks after it heals and the coloration or discoloration it might produce is the Melanin in your skin. This is the pigmentation that gives your skin the color it IS. So obviously the inks that are implanted under the skin then has even more skin healed over it. This is why white inks are more often unsuccessful than any other ink. Sometimes the melanin that heals over the top can discolor ANY tattoo color, but most of the time it goes mostly unnoticed.
