Your tutorial is very amusing ha ha especially the numbering part lol thanks for the color mixing tip.
I've got a question: if not using masking fluid over the branches, how can you avoid watercolor over them? I mean if we pay close attention and paint slowly, then we can. But isn't it time consuming? or it's supposed to take time?

This is absolutely beautiful and well written! I've always found the idea of painting with watercolor daunting (I've tried it before and it didn't turn out too well aha), but I believe because of this I'll give it another go! Thank you!

Dear Evi, Is there any way to do it digitally?

GrimDreamArt In reply to shiftmaker [2012-08-04 16:05:19 +0000 UTC]
I think that digital painting can be quite similar to traditional (there are also layers, each next layer more detailed). Although it'll be hard to simulate wet on wet technique characteristic for watercolors. Anyway you can try. I'd really like to see a digital version!

Visited your Blog, and found some more sketches out there, which you didn't show in your DeviantART gallery, except first one. I liked the last sketch, the third one ranked second.
The Water tut is still hard for me (since no cereals are involved). Actually, I really wanna try it someday. Tried it (watercolors, not cereals) once or twice long time ago, but got it quite messy (...with paint, not from, let's say, dirty socks (just to be clear).
Thanks for sharing your work!

Thanks for visiting my Blog!
Well, watercolours need patience. But after about two years of training, painting with them is quite pleasant.

Thank you for the kind words. But, please, don't keep your fingers crossed too long - otherwise, how you can make some more nice tutorials.
