I'm trying to use the gold to symbolise both the dragon and his hoard, because there is something interchangeable about the gold fever that a dragon's hoard can wrought. That and Thranduil is my favourite LOTR character despite having less than a page of writing in Tolkien's verse. A huge amount of fanfiction may have play a part in that liking and the casting for The Hobbit trilogies didn't hurt too

did you use different shades of golden acrylic to create that gradient or was it a result of the lighting cast on your drawing when taking a picture?

Hi! Yep I used one shade and yes its the result of different lighting, however I scanned it but because its a book I guess the part closest to the bindings are lighter > < I spent a long time playing around with the original thing in natural lighting lol
