Description It's been a while huh?
Allow me to introduce you to my first adoptibibi, his name is Kineniel and was designed by Maru-chan-an

I've been entangled in a deadlined commision asignment lately, which left me very little space for personal work. Luckily, the deadline has been postponed to an indefinate date, so I finally got some time to breathe again. The commision work was completely out of line of what I usually do and was clustered with morbid topics, and I needed something so sweet that I'd get carious just by looking at the colorpalete o3o And since I fell in love with this little guy's design when I first saw him, I had to get this littul bibi <3
Feel free to draw him for me if you want  Heres the ref

Here's a few words from my artistic perspective on this picture:
As of late, I have realized that it was getting harder and harder for me to just draw/sketch something, anything at all just for the sake of testing out new styles and brushes. Anytime I would try out a new method, scribbling a character or a place from my mind, I ended up thinking too much about how appropriate a design, a pose or stance, any detail from the image was to the character in particular. I was angry with myself for not getting the details down as I would if I used my normal style. Soon I reverted back to my standard style, and couldn't help but edit the same concept so much until it fitted the worldview around the character I drew. I became too occupied with worldbuilding.
This is a vice not very helpful when trying to evolve as an artist and experiment with other things. I needed to free myself of my worldbuilding alltogether. That is why I got myself an adoptable, with a somewhat different colorstyle and appearance than what I've deadlocked myself into (even though i stuck with anthros ). If you find yourself in a similar situation where you just want to draw or sketch free of the boundaries of worldbuilding, I can only recommend getting yourself a character thats designed by someone else, that is void of a predefined personality (or has a very vague one at best) and no character background. Don't make anything up for them, and just enjoy them for their design and colorpalette. And then go out there and play with it.

Hope some of you will find this little passage helpful.

cute. Forgive my ignorance but what do you mean when you say worldbuilding in regards to what you're drawing?

When you draw a character, you usually try to fit them in with what is known of the character - the situations you picture them, the poses they would do, their general behaviour. You would never draw a refined, rich, condescending character in a beggers clothes in a submissive posture, for example.
When you concern yourself with details like that, you start to focus more on the personality and display of the character instead of the art and execution itself. I am not saying one is better or worse than the other or should be completely ignored however. Merely that one should try to put one aspect aside for the sake of examining and evolving the other in greater detail
