Skyrim gave me new hope (in regards to games). Not just because it's a fantastic game, but also because it stays "oldschool" and shows the industry you don't need to treat your customers like Activision or UbiSoft to do darn well commercially (when comparing established brands of similar sizes).

Try turning off Antialiasing and setting shadows on Medium. Than put everything else on the very Ultra. Practice showed that most people can run the game like that without trouble (strangely sometimes it even runs better than on lower settings ^_^; ).
