I totally love the painterly and rough approach that you have to these portraits. They show so very well how you can start out in the abstract and then find your forms and shapes there. But not only the shapes are interesting...you couple that with simply beautiful colours. You really have a knack for vivid and luminous colours. And it even seems like you're doing a lot of your form definition through colours...something that I always find very interesting.
Inspiring stuff...and it's funny, I was just thinking "hey, I should try that approach as well"....and then I looked over to my canvas and noticed that the sketch I'm doing just now...started from purely abstract shapes as well

Hehe, I'm not sure yet, if I will make more out of it...so far it's just a quick black white warm up doodle where I wanted to be really messy

This is stunning! Such a beautiful, almost traditional-feeling texture. Also, the colors are love! The hands look great. C: Hands are some of the hardest parts of the body to draw, I think, and you pulled them off very well.
