Description
A special request commission cat sculpture in miniature 1:12 scale -- created by hand using polymer clay with delicate wire support in legs, neck and tail. Fashioned in a playful, flip-flop pose - this cat was made to be showcased in a client's custom miniature roombox vignette (published in Miniature Collector magazine). After the sculpture cured in the oven, it was painted in acrylics and dressed in a permanent coat of alpaca/silk fibers and flock. Detailing in fabric inks. Shown here alongside Scrabble game pieces to give you an idea of actual size.Related content

Thank you! Cut yourself some slack if you have only been sculpting awhile. It takes some time to become comfortable with the clay enough to get the results you want.
I am always trying new techniques for the eyes. These particular cat eyes were hand painted within the sockets and sealed with several layers of gloss over a clear lens. The eyes can be maddening to get just right in this scale, and why I am always looking for new, easier/better ways to make them.

While I have always been completely amazed at the detail of miniatures, seeing this cat truly tops it all. The extreme detail and lifelike qualities of the cat are beyond reproach. I shall herewith decide this is a REAL cat and you simply made gigantic scrabble pieces to let us THINK it was an astounding sculpture
