Happy New Year! I had hoped to complete this before the holidays, but I ended up putting it on hold to make my Christmas card. It started as an experiment with colored pencils and watercolor, but I kinda liked the direction so I decided to finish it as a full illustration. The paper texture was really harsh on my scan, so I added a soft focus in Photoshop, as well as some color correction.close ups: [link]

I like this Picture a lot, partially because I love nature themes, but also for how you managed to make colors that otherwise are rather drab tones (red, brown, gray, and only a little green) but still manage to make it clashing and intense.
