Description
This stunning beauty is a rare Red Mountain Racer, also known as a Bamboo Racer or Bamboo Rat Snake(Elaphe porphyracea laticincta), a rare species of contrictor from Malaysia and parts of China. Unfortunately her disposition did not match her looks, as she was more than willing to bite! She's non-venomous, though, so at the worst it would have done was a few scratches. Her mate was stolen off the vendor's table at the same show, and the guy just walked out with that snake, valued at nearly $2,000.oo! These are related to the Rat and Corn Snakes of North America.
