I love that you can see some of the previous paint layers under her skin, like where her leg is folded up. It gives it a nice atmosphere and incorporates her into the environment effectively. I also enjoy this color pallet.

I like to see underneath brushwork too, I think it gives life to the hole thing.
Glad you like, thanks!!

The seemingly unconcerned use of colour and brushstrokes in this piece is what makes it intriguing. Through this playfulness, the form remains clear and solid, and is further complimented by the subtle vibrating of hot and cold contrast, both on the model and in the background. Very interesting.

Okay, sorry for delay I've been thinking of your comment for quite a while yes...
I can tell you got an impressive analytic eye, and experience in critique. This is the kind of feedback I'm looking for you know?
Working with warm and cold tones has been an essential part of my work nowadays. To achieve skin color, I've used greenish cold colors in the bottom, then adding semitransparent pinkish warmer on top. For shadows I do the same thing but with thiner more atmosferic textures. This enhances a 3d feeling to it.
My aproach with form is very playfull but I always keep in mind this sense of structure. Lots and lots of exercises and trial and error process here. Accepting accident and a bit of chaos into it and Voila!! Its the way I love to paint. I like when there is this surprise element in every work. If not I get bored so easily...
Thanks for taking the time to comment, I would love to read more of your observations of my oeuvre

I am glad that you appreciated my critique, as brief as it was.
As for the rest of the gallery, I must say I much prefer the rushed style, as present in the nudes, over the detailed, photo style of wedding paintings. The wedding paintings, as presenting of skill as they are, have something lacking. It's an interesting style, to be sure, but the subjects are all over the place, as if they are a bunch of photos pasted together to create a collage. While a great memento to the families who comissioned it, artistically, they are a little on the tacky side. The perspective is awkward, which I persume, works with the whole collage idea. Overall, they are overwhelming to the viewer. I find that details of these paintings, on the other hand, work much better than the paintings as a whole. In the cropped versions, it is possible to appreciate the technique and emotion without being put off by all the action going on at the same time throughout the painting. Overall I prefer the simpler style of the nudes. I also get the impression they are more enjoyable to paint as you can experiment and play around a little.

Well yes. actually the wedding paintings are comissions I do cause I need the money so.... I'm aware of perspective awkwardness and the collage feeling to them cause I do a collage of photos first in Photoshop to arrange the composition. I try to avoid that copy paste thing but since every individual photo of a family member has its own lightning and color, once I put them together its kind of a mess... But soon I'll post the new ones that I beleive are better on those aspects.
And I'll have to admit nudes are way much more enjoyable to paint than weddings jajaja!!!!
Thanks for taking the time to comment, its been very usefull to feedback from you
