Description
The black ranger garb. Funny enough, I didn't make this as a set, but rather as separate pieces for different outfits.It consists of a: steel boned corset, full skirt, swordswoman shirt.
I did not, however, make any of the leather that I'm wearing or archery equipment.

Is the outfit from a specific medieval period?

It's a traditional English longbow, bamboo backed hickory. And yes, I do shoot.

Is the bamboo backed hickory more flexible and forgiving than using a yew bow? I shoot a re-curve, and have wanted a traditional bow for sometime.

Yes, it's fairly flexible, though I've not shot with a yew bow to compare them.

This costume is magnificent. I was thinking of doing something sort of like it for ren. I'm curious, though. You look marvelous in yours, but you have blonde hair. Since I'm a brunette, do you think I would look better with more earthy colors rater than just black?

I guess you're right. I'm just now getting a job so I haven't really even be able to settle on a theme. But, after your inspiration, I definitely think I'm going for a Ranger. I even went to the web site where you got the 3-strap quiver. I'm so excited!
I think I'm gonna take your advice and go with what I like. Maybe just a collection of really dull colors will do. I'd make it myself, but I only took one sewing class my junior year of high school XD

I can manage to put together my ren faire pirate outfit from the most random things, but when it comes to a ranger outfit or something of the like, my mind draws a massive blank most of the time, which is why my ranger outfit is rather bland at the moment, lol

The leather pieces are great, the buckles more modern,
not sure when they became the style we have now.
From the small amount I can see, I believe the arrows are hand made?
Love the bracers.
(Can not tell if earrings fit in the outfit.)
Great outfit even if they were not made to go together. Of course, the lovely ranger can cover up any small mistakes in the picture though.
