So I kinda went down a rabbit hole upon wondering about what they'd eat. Their beak and non-existant talons don't really do any good for hunting, so maybe they are herbivores- the hooves would support that idea I guess,, or maybe they just occasionally swallow rodents and the such whole, which they'd catch via....stomping?? OR maybe they are selectively bred, and are being fed? Would fit the fancy patterns after all. BTW for the poor souls who render bird wings feather by feather and would need to adapt these non-feather-shaped-markings to feather placement,, I imagine that metallic pattern to be flexible like liquid, just sitting on top of the wings? (maybe held in place by some magical magnetism Idunno man). Maybe the metal drips off when they get sick, and handlers need to "refill" the pattern-- omg magical armor liquid could be a thing?? instead of war-horses, there are war-gryphons?? I might try doing a bulkier version too with armor plating

Btw, if you want to use these kinda body-types to create your own, feel free to do so! I'm not exactly inventing a new species here, just a different take on the griffin/griffon/gryphon with some weird magicks thrown into the mix.

What definitely surprised me, was how much fun the poofy sleeping pose was to draw,, like holy heck I might make one for myself too
