This is a pic I did for my friend [link] because she did (and is still doing, I hope) some Final Fantasy VI art for me.

For those of you who don't know, the character depicted is Ioz from an old cartoon called The Pirates of Dark Water. It kicked major ass, but only lasted like 3 seasons. They never show any episodes anywhere now, which sucks because the show was great.

I had to reference Ioz's clothing and general appearance, and his pose is from a concept image of him. I had hoped to draw him holding a rope, standing on the railing off a ship, but I couldn't fit it all into the shot. I colored him off the palette he had in the TV show, and didn't add any shading to get that cartoonish quality.
