Yes but that's why I love it! Well, one of the reasons I guess. He's also a lot more fun to be with in the first book compared to the other two.

Haha, are you sort of calling yourself a sadist? XD Yeah, he is dealing with depression in book two and even three so I can understand why you say that. Also we don't get to hear is inner sarcastic commentary which I'm sure is still there

Yeah, I remember him being snarky. Same with Charming series, Chronicles of Nick, and Half Bad Trilogy. If I remember right, all of them have that sort of snarky and downtrodden male protag if you are into that sort of thing
