Beautiful, but not where she belongs!
Tasmania is a part of Australia that has a very unique & delicate environment of rainforests, alpine forest, rugged coastlines, white beaches & of course fertile farmlands & towns & cities. Being an island state, we were free of the foxes that were so damaging to native fauna on the mainland. Until recently, when a couple of foxes were sighted here. [link]
But cunning as they are, they're beautiful too, like the legends & the art they've inspired over the centuries. So here she is: a Japanese fox spirit who's found herself miles away from where she belongs, on the other side of the planet!

The other fun fact about this work is that I've painted it with my left hand, because I've broken my right wrist! The cast comes off in just a few more days, thank god! I had no idea that i could do this, but when i mentioned it to my mother, she wasn't particularly surprised. it turns out that her father, who died long before i was born, was an architect who used to draw with his right hand & colour with the paint brush in his left!
