Description The title has less to do with the image than my own epiphany. I finally let go of my cheapness and bought some copic markers. I overcame my ink-phobia and drew this. I copied the image from the MGS2 artbook a friend lent me. Hey, screw originality! I needed to practice skill! Anyways, these copics I think will be the key to me drawing like the actual pros! Finally, I'll be able to make polished work! Granted, I still need to be more controlled with the pen, and also learn to use Photoshop properly, but that'll come in time I hope.

Man, your work sooo good.
Metal Gear RAY is certainly one of the most unique biomechanoids ever, in terms of design and how it is so plausible, it can be made in real life (more or less).
'd!

I like this one a lot! Very Godzilla. Mentioning Metal Gear Solid, here are my most recent drawings of MGS comics characters:

Haha, yeah, this doe hark back a little to Koji Shinkawa's works - well the thick marker lines does resmble a little to those thick brush strokes used in the MGS games. I think it's awesome...

hey man, the inking rocks; i too suffer from inkphobia at times, but i think you kicked its ass. i hope you'll do more in this style, it's great practice to draw strait into ink, even if the result is crappy. this, however, came out great! good work!

OMG DDD: That's a hell good job right there! I love how you tappered(I think it is a word..) the background to make it look like it fades. Yes, copics are crazy expensive. xD; But they make you feel like a pro when you use them.

Reminds me of Alien, somehow.

really? but aliens have those weird heads, not mecha-dinosaurish at all...

Interesting. I just said alien, and aliens don't have to look like the "things" in the movies. But somehow you had to think about them in connection with your picture. So it seems that there must be a little similarity between them and your Ray up there.

I don't mean to sound reproachful, but what's with your tone? You almost seem to be trying to look smarter than me. "I just said alien, and aliens don't have to look like the "things" in the movies. But somehow you had to think about them in connection with your picture. " I referenced the weird-headed aliens in the movie because you said it reminded you of "Alien" specifically, not just "an alien."

*caugh caugh* I don't mean to sound like a wise-ass or something. Text messages are always able to sound harsh in other people's ears, I wanted it to sound more funny then harsh or something related. Well, it didn't work it seems. I'm sorry if I irritated you.

Alien... an alien... damn you English. Anyway, I think I understand now what you mean. Pardon me.

Again, I apologize if I sounded kinda stupid.

It's okay. It was a misunderstanding. Good thing about text is we can always reread it. And, I'm sorry for being so harsh. I just couldn't tell what you were trying to say.

Oh wow, I really like that! Nice work on those powerful lines, jah; I think you've captured the essence of the mechanical beast real well ;D. Score on the markers 8D! I-isn't that funny that the pros actually know what brands are good? Crayola really only gets you so far ehee XD;; I'm going to have to get me some nice markers/color pencils one of these days .

but that'll come in time I hope. Course it will ;D. Any notable skill takes time and energy to master, so practicepracticepractice! Power to ya
