Made this a while back and totally forgot about it. For all the bone-collectors out there! We needed a stamp. ;3The featured skull is B.T., my raccoon skull.

I own a raccoon skull and I am going to trade one of my drawings for two skulls. The person trading thought that two skulls weren't enough for the art.

couldn't agree more! Skulls teach a lot about the facial/cranial anatomy of animals, which can be very useful if you want to draw them. I spend so much time looking at skulls that it's almost kind of stupid!ย

Skulls are invaluable study tools for anyone interested in getting their anatomy down right.ย

Yes, but in a good way! And you aren't alone. I have an entire wall full of shelves just for my skull collection in my bedroom.

I had some, but I can't seem to find them. D8 I think they got deleted accidentally. Darnit. I miss that skull too, I lost it when...well...family issues resulting in no longer having a family or home and such.

They are! I may have lost the family I had, but they were very hateful and unsupportive, and now I have real friends, a loving boyfriend and his family, who make a wonderful family. ^_^

I'm not a big fan of most dead things, such as pelts and taxidermy.
But I suuuuuuure love skeletons, especially the skulls.

I was at a fair during the summer, and one of the places sold bones. I didn't have a lot of money, so I just bought a crow-feather pen, but there was the coolest raccoon skull. โฅ They also sold fox pelts, and most of the people I was with flipped out. I can't wait until the next fair, maybe I'll have money.

Keep an eye online for skulls too! I sell a lot of them in my Esty shop and I know loads of other folks do too. Ebay is a great place to look too!

I'm no collector, but I love skulls /bones.
What do you use to clean them off? I have this really tiny skull (probably a sparrow) that I need to clean from some down and other bits still attached to it. Just regular cleaning alcohol, or what?
...You can make a mount out of tarantula molts? I thought those would be all fragile and just break if you touched them.

I always clean and whiten mine with hydrogen peroxide, just the 3% kind you can buy in grocery stores.

Those displays are gorgeous. And it's a great idea, both for real spiders not having to die and because it's frankly dead cool when you can see some of the inside of the "skin". (Also love the other stuff she makes, that store is on my gift source list now.)
