Woo hoo--the leopard is finally DONE!! 😄I knew she would be a bit of work with all those spots, but I also knew it would be worth it in the end. This is also the first leopard I've ever done in scratchboard. The lovely model for this piece was from our trip to Africa last year, more specifically in Botswana. We had followed her for a bit until she decided to lay down under the shade of some brush, where only parts of her face and body were exposed to the sun. I really want to up the drama of that and really emphasize those sunlit areas. What a regal animal she was! It's always pure joy to see a leopard in the wild. This piece is headed for an exhibition in October, but I'll have prints available if anyone wants them.
