Just a quick honest bit of critique~ if you want your characters whispering to each other, you really should just give them a different-looking font (like smaller, in italics) and/or a different speech bubble (like one with dotted lines). Otherwise the panel in question is superb in getting the mood across.
(boo on the males picking on Lettie like thaaaat~) ¯3¯ at least they aren't callin' her hysterical, in the archaic sense.....

I'll definatly try that next time, smaller or different font sounds like a fantastic idea!
As a question, how would you put across someone talking in a different langauge ( but in english for the readers sake?) - A different font? If so it's probably better for me to go with smaller and italic writing for whispers!

There's a few ways to pull off foreign language dialogue~
The common way is to show the language~
(and then provide English subtitles below in parentheses)
Another way is to start showing some of the language (but overlap it with another speech bubble with the English in place, obviously not in the exact same color or font as the main cast)
Either way, you should only have to do this two or three times for people to get it and from then on you should just always represent the foreign language (in parentheses) or in that differing color/font.
