Description
My take on a lighthugger from Alastair Reynolds's Revelation Space universe.The scene shows a lighthugger (a large spacecraft which accelerates to relativistic speeds, and therefore "hugs the speed of light", hence the name) in orbit around an unpopulated planet. The background of the piece shows a "shroud" ( revelationspace.fandom.com/wik…), which I have always pictured as looking like a fairly active and violent nebulea.

The lighting in this is so ominous. Definitely gives me second thoughts about whether or not I should get any closer to that ship.
