Whew! This took a long time to complete. I hope you enjoy this comic.For those that aren't familiar, this is a reference to a scene from the movie The Mummy. Here's the clip [link]
For the "bony" structure of the mummy's face, I created this reference for what I believe pony skulls must look like. I used details from what actual horse skulls look like to make it more realistic. [link]
And yes, in case there weren't enough hints, the mummy is supposed to be Lyra. It's meant as a reference to episode 4 of season 2, where Lyra is dressed as a mummy in the background (for Nightmare Night).

In my oppinion originality isn't all that important, espaially with a crossover. I found it quite interesting you chose to impliment the mummy into a daring do story. that'll give you a good number of points. Also the choice of twilight as evelene was very well done. I was slightly perplexed that you chose to portray lyra as the mummy, but then i realise she could mistaken twilight as bon bon so that'll work quite nicly. I found the way you pointed out the gag of the howeling wind to be perfect. you obviously payed attention to the numerous movies that played that joke.
At anyrate, very well done!

Hmm, perhaps I should strive for greater originality, it is true. It's just that crossovers like this come more easily to me, and are more inspiring.
Originally, the mummy pony was not supposed to be Lyra, but rather a generic made-up pony. However, I was hoping for a feature on EqD, and I thought the mummy pony would be interpreted as an OC, and thus would have hurt its chances of being accepted. It was then that I opted to make Lyra the mummy, which actually seemed appropriate, given that she did dress up as a mummy according to canon.
Thank you very much for the critique. I am always open to recommendations for improvement, in terms of technique, composition, and writing.

Daring Do, you're a goddamn archaeologist.Β I watched Indiana Jones, I know you spend your time in universities!Β No archaeologist is in any position to call anypony else an egghead.Β Especially considering how much research needs to go into tracking down those lost temples and artifacts, learning dead languages, studying conflicting mythology regarding antique death rays...
On a side note, why is there no Twilight & Daring artwork out there?

I wondered that too.Β I guess Rainbow Dash's fixation on Daring Do so quickly became the focus that the fact that Twilight was also a fan kind of fell by the wayside....

Yup.^^ And I just thought of an oh god crossover concept. Where a hero from another reality would unintentionally become a villain, due to becoming lost in their world, and going on a rampage to find what he lost due to the travel. That being Asura from Asura's Wrath.... and him seeking his daughter, Mithra. And having such strength that he shrugs off all they throw at him.
