admittedly I'm having kind of a shit time of things. i'm really emotionally tired and hurting, which, appropriately enough, is the best time to work on pale. HOORAY.so this is a mood painting of a panel that i drew and then immediately ended up cutting from the storyboard, but i liked the idea enough that I didn't want to put it entirely to waste. it's very quick and I'm shitty at values, but I finished it, and that's kind of a big deal to me since i rarely finish anything these days.
one day i'll get better at composition xI

dsvfdgvfds its like a DOTF homage to the old megadrive Ecco, the way you present the background, sort of 2d-3d. Reminding me of those maze days, in all the hellish rocks clumped together, oddly now I like that, lmao. :'> The air beds look like the places air flows/currents and Ecco can breathe, haha. I'm so nerd It reminds me of the zone The Lagoon, where you go saving the other dolphin - specific because I hated that level of sorts but loved that lil trapped off area just as much. The blue is exactly the same as thoseΒ old games too, even though I've heard you say DOTF is your fav, you always capture to me, the original, when I saw those glaring blue corals in the back.
I adore your lil booger looking clueless in that small but open space. :> Why are the tinies so cute? ;;
I like the smidgen glow to show the bottom of the kelp bed, and uguu bubbles <3

Kinda disappointed by the more human modern shit thrown in so suddenly. wTF the buildings look so wrong there and the fire/boat. >:S
The bowhead was a nice addition, on the stream Mosaic talked with people, they worked on the game and gave a lil bit of info. (Looks for Kleimens stream if u wanna stalk the chat lol) :> Mo said youβre supposed to help it alike the baby in Aqua Bay, only burgs. :I They're meant for ice smashing, so wtf XD It was cute tho. ;;Bloody fish though, I loled. Wonder how they would tie in more hanging waters tho. :m

this is so neat! love the concept of this (and more frore always means more fun) and the gloomy dark mood. i get your dilemma with creating both the illusion of this being deep down in the abyss and having enough light to like, actually see shit. how do those airbeds work btw? is it like a field of plants/algae that trap bed? it's cool either way

thank u~ the air bed is like a little colony of strange plant-like organisms that produce the fuck out of oxygen. sirens like to cultivate little beds of them and then put a pocket overhead so some of the air will collect and they'll have an organic breathing stop, so they're super handy in deep areas.

I love it. Your environments are always so great and creative. The colours are beautiful. I think the values are OK. Maybe could have added more light in the background, particularly behind Pale to make her stand out a bit more. But then, I think it works as it is as well. Gives a gloomy and lonely feel which I love.
