I cringed at seeing this piece. It makes something inside me writhe. It is amazing how much pain is conveyed in this piece. I hope I can achieve your level of talent in the future.

Thank you!
This was more of an exercise in visualizing emotions than in storytelling,
so you can make up the story you think fits. c-:

I like the colors of the painting and the dichotomy of the piece. At first glance it seems to feel as if the boy is being bullied? But maybe not? The boy has split knuckles.. Maybe it's more of an intervention of anger? Either way the body language is as intense as his face. /bravo

Thank you!
I've seen a lot of people interpret this as bullying, which is totally fine by me,
but I was originally going for a sort representation of lacking proper tools to
deal with emotions and anxieties, and how it could be illustrated from the
perspective of a silent observer who, in their inability to react, end up making
the situation worse.
Then again, the piece changed some in the process and, of course,
when you display something this vague, it's always open to interpretation
and everyone can paint their own stories over it. c-:

Marvelous, his tears are so bright! (and his snot haha) The clarity and circle of static posture and neutral colors makes everything seem pretty benign and calm but then you have this grotesque boy wigging out on the ground. Really strong juxtaposition makes for a really strong affect. (and can I express my appreciation for how you rendered the dirt? It's dirt, but it's pretty, well-lit dirt...)
As always, I love your work, Tiia. ♥ Most times it seems to tell an intense story, is there a specific story for this picture...?

Thank you, as always!
This piece is constructed more around the different emotions at play than a singular, specific story.
I guess it draws a lot from my personal experiences with panic and anxiety disorders, and tries
to express those feelings of intense dread and terror even though nothing is actually amiss.
I hope to do more story-driven pieces in the future as well, tho. c-:

So nothing is wrong except in your head? That's really intense, somehow scarier than if something external went wrong, internal affairs are much more challenging to fix.
I'm sorry to hear you have such a rough time with anxiety, I hope it gets better for you.
I think that a story can spring from an emotion quite easily--once the emotion is there, the artist can try to answer the "why" behind it. Even with a general emotion, or an emotion that's difficult to understand, expressing that through art or writing brings a certain subtlety and clarity that can't otherwise be captured or understood. Even if you don't know the story behind it, I think it's still there, if that makes any sense at all...
