i look at other peoples art whenever i have the time and try picking up new stuff.... having teachers really helps too ;D

the skin tone looks a bit too orange.

usually when i paint, skintones are a mixture of red, yellow, brown, and TONS of white o3o use someone's head as reference and just note the light source! it'll help a lot with shading ;D something i have issues with too x_o

i'd start with a darkish brown base and then start brushing in lighter hair strands
there's no quick way around it :<

just keep in mind when you draw that you're trying to represent a three dimensional object. Don't shade just because you see shadows. Think about how lights are interacting with the object ^^

facing down = shaded portions

facing up = lighter

just be sure to have a visualization of the face ;D it really helps to have a model, photo ref, or a mirror for help

i usually have a bad habit of using my face and like tracing the outlines of my own face when i'm drawing =3=

just look at refs of asian eyes ^^" they're more ovalish and squintier than caucasian eyes. caucasian eyes tend to be more angular?

when doing the double-eyelid of asians [which only appears on some asians o3o] its more of a curved line that closely follows the upper lid, as compared to the more angular double-eyelid of caucasians ^^
