The blackness is a palpable, animal thing rising up to her pale face. Yet there is a look in her eyes, not of defiance, but of disdain. Solitude, perhaps, but it is a solitude chosen. She reveals nothing of herself, she doesn't know any other way of being...she is who she is, she is what she is, she would only be confused by the suggestion that there could be any other way of being. She is strong, but she is not aware of being strong. She is a queen facing the guillotine
