FINALLY! Finally I finished this!! (And what makes me so sad is that it was so much sharper and clearer before I halved the size of the file). I had this in mind for ages and finally found time to paint it. I learned so much about light and colour as I did this one - I wanted it to be warm and soft and golden, and I had no idea how to do it. After three days of struggle and much trial and error I found out that adding red to the shadows seemed to do the trick. Still not entirely how I wanted it, and I'm NEVER happy with how Glorfindel turns out, but this is great progress for me!

This began when two readers asked me for a Glorfindel/Eowyn fanfic. Faramir/Eowyn has been my LOTR OTP since I was a kid so I was NOT going to do that, but I wrote a very sweet, harmless short fic about Glorfindel meeting a teenaged Eowyn in Rohan - one my earliest fanfics Golden Summer

They are riding over the plains of Anduin, and that is the Misty Mountains (and a bit of Fangorn Forest) in the background.
