I feel like it's the dogs, considering they're known to be experts at creating plans, and it looked like one of the pups in the last page. I think it'd be pretty cool to learn that Binti befriended the dogs with the help of their pups and had their help save Africa, and also the fact she's looking upwards from her creeping position, possibly into one of the adult dogs eyes.

part of me wants to say it is little mondo finally making his debut, mainly because i have a theory his mother is sabra (the pregnant serval from page 38 waayyy back...) perhaps when Chui and African began to clash she took her very young son away and their paths have crossed once more :0
