About the page!
One major difficulty of this comic is that the animal characters don't cry (at least not in the way humans are used to).
This makes it much more challenging to convey stronger emotions, such as this scene. This page means a lot to me. <3 Poor Mosi!

Questa pagina è qualcosa di davvero grandioso: sei riuscita a trasmettere ciò che provano Africa e Mosi usando solo espressioni semplici ma ricche di significato.
Ogni vignetta di questa pagina, ogni inquadratura....tutto contribuisce a trasmettere un senso di tristezza, di timore, ma anche di speranza.
Il disegno e i colori sono ricchi e vividi come sempre. Nelle prime tre vignette, i colori freddi dello sfondo e del terreno si contrappongono a quelli accesi del pelo di Mosi e di sua madre, dando un bell'effetto di contrasto.
Infine, la cura per i dettagli è bella come sempre, soprattutto nel disegnare ogni singola macchia del pelo dei nostri micioni preferiti!

Wait, so Africa actually intends to confront Chui, judging by the comment about going home in the last panel? As far as I remember, it took Africa and cubs at least several days to get to the lake, so it may not be the best idea to leave the cubs for so long.

I imagine traveling with cubs is a lot slower than she can travel on her own. After all, they have much shorter legs and not as much stamina as an adult.

But seriously, you're right. When you're drawing a story about animals, you NEED a balance between being accurate to the animal(s) used, and what can be intuitively conveyed to the (human) audience. And some concessions have to be made on both sides for it to work.

aaaAAA I just read the entire comic and OH MY GOODNESS why is all of it so gorgeous??? I have no idea how you do these colors and this shading and these lines with only colored pencils, all I know is that it's AMAZING!!!

A general rule with colored pencils is to lay down the darker hues (e.g. shadows) first, then use the lighter hues to blend around them. Depending on the quality of the pencil and the scale of page being worked on, the results can be almost as smooth as digital art.
What really makes it stand out is the quality of drawing the linework and determining where to place the highlights/shadows to begin with. Africa's yellow tone is, for the most part, just one pencil color but with varying degrees of blending/pressure to match the lighting. (Same with Mosi, though his is a different yellow.)

She's not seriously going to face Chui again, I hope. He's bigger and stronger than her, so it's very likely she won't win. Might even get hurt too badly to hunt for her family in the process, essentially dooming them all to starvation ( unless the hyenas help ).
