I have been looking online and can not find directions for the white undershirt anywhere. What did you do?

Eressea-sama In reply to araneg [2013-11-18 10:49:31 +0000 UTC]

Well basically my shirt is made out of some strecht-fabric. And because I'm kind of unable to work with that stuff right, it became a turtleneck shirt... o.O but I think it does the job ^^

I'm confused about the sleeves as well, I cut out the four halves of the sleeves, in the shape that it has on the pattern, but I can't work out how to sew them together, and which way they are meant to go.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Eressea-sama In reply to AkaiKemuri [2012-11-21 10:33:37 +0000 UTC]

oh, I see... Well, I guess it's my fault... For I made four pieces, becaus my sleves are doublesided, to put some shoulder pads between to have more male looking shoulders. I had that on mind, while making the pattern but I skipped that step when making the tutoriel, so ... sorry for that...
That means: one piece is one sleeve. If you sew it together, you will see that it fits to your shoulder, when you put the sewing up.

Hi! I love your Link Costume, and the tutorial is great I'm trying to sew my own Link costume, but It is difficult.... Im really confused about the sleeves, I can see where the seam is and how it goes straight up on both sides, but it looks like at the top of the sleeve its sewn together, how do you do that?? O.o The collar is amazing too, im not sure i understand how to make that, but I will try my best!

Eressea-sama In reply to Tara-and-the-Tardis [2012-11-09 21:06:31 +0000 UTC]

First of all: Thank!
Well, the sleves are really sewn on the top. - I know, it's some what confusing, but for me it worked! ^_^ just cut the paper pattern of a normal sleve in half and glue the two "out sides" together. Than you'll have the perfect pattern for a Sleve that is sewn on the top! ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Eressea-sama In reply to xSoma [2012-03-17 15:19:34 +0000 UTC]

Eressea-sama In reply to xSoma [2012-03-19 15:02:35 +0000 UTC]

Question: Do you think linen would be the best fabric for Ocarina's Link? Or cotton?

The con is in summer time and I have't a clue which would be better, weather wise/authenticity wise.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

xSoma In reply to SimplyAreios [2012-03-17 15:11:16 +0000 UTC]

Maybe a bit late, but linen is very comfortable to wear in summmer, the material itself is a bit thicker, but as it's natural, it won't heat you up (like poyester for example) :>

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

Eressea-sama In reply to SimplyAreios [2011-06-08 07:48:35 +0000 UTC]

I used linen, you know. For I thought it looks more authntc. But I gues some unstretchable cotton-pice would be good as well. Often linen is a bit thicker, so if the convention is in summer I think you should take the cotton

But it also depends on the color. If you don't find the right color in cotton be flexible an take linen instead. ^_^

Hope I could help!

Your comment was very helpful, and I shall go with cotton, and perhaps linen when it gets colder.
