I didn't want to change the photo of the other one because I like the kind of... old look it has to it. This is a more true-to-life photo of the piece though. The details are much more how they appear when the piece is in front of you. I can't wait to get this framed and give it to Alyssa! I'm so going to do that tomorrow. Pleeeease don't delete this one, Deviantart gods, they both have meaning to me!This is Conor Oberst from Bright Eyes, the best singer in the world (and one of the sexiest men ever, according to Alyssa.)

that is an amazing capture of him.
frequently when people draw, they slightly skew proportions and make drawings look oddly cartoonish,
even if it is only very slightly off.
you did a great job with the proportions..
not to mention i love the song you wrote on there ^^

Hahaha, thank you very much. Yeah, I did this as an end of the year project for my art class when I was a sophomore in high school. I gave it to my girlfriend (at the time) because she's always been a huge fan of this guy's music.

This is really well done. Very detailed. I saw bright eyes live about half a year ago. Really good show... hes very talented... even after the vast amount of alcahol he had on stage when we saw him. They trashed the stage at the end as they played road to joy. Best ending.

Haha, I have always been amazed at how spot-on he is when he's plastered. Road to Joy is a damn fine song. My favorite live song was Let's Not Shit Ourselves. Wooowwwww.

It was funny because every ten minutes, at least one member of the band needed a piss cos they were all constantly drinking. Then the piano/trumpet guy goes behind one of the amps and lights a joint. If a band can still play perfectly and even give a really amazing show while that plastered... they're clearly very talented musicians.

This one is simply impressive! The details and the stroke are awesome! The shadows are very well realized, and the eyes are impressive vivid!

Thanks a lot for looking! This guy is the creative force behind this band called Bright Eyes. In my opinion he writes the most unique and amazing songs I've ever heard. If you're interested, google "saddle creek" and you can find Bright Eyes on their site with some song samples.

woa. thats like conor oberst to the T. he ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich when he played at the ridglea theater in fort worth texas where i work not this past october but october 2004. and he left all the bread and jelly and peanut butter behind. then i took the leftover loaf of bread home and it eventually got eaten.

i think after that happened i didnt stop eating pb and j for about 6 months. im just hopeing that out of that bread i some how at least touched the same bit of crust he did.
