STXI - Pencil line work with digital coloring. November 2009.Dedicated to anon_j_anon, for the massive fic, Observations [link] which inspired this drawing. Based on Chapter 115, Kirk and Spock enjoy a moment of revelations, skipping out on a diplomatic party to do so.

I really tried to draw uniforms that were more aesthetically pleasing to me (after the tragedy of the TOS versions), and I'm so happy they work for other people as well! Thank you again!

ah i love this picture. i'm reading this: [link] right now and this keeps reminding me of it. and yeah, the TOS uniforms were rather unappealing on occasion (but spock in his black undershirt, got to love that)

I really, really, really like this picture. The dark tones make the setting feel so safe and comfortable. I also love how you took height into account. The way that spock has to bend slightly makes it seem like he's really melting into the kiss, while the way kirk still has to stand on his tippy-toes to reach him is so cute. ~
Now I'm off to read the fanfiction!

It's always incredible for me to hear what people like about any of the pieces. You've really described perfectly what I was hoping to accomplish with the dark setting and how their respective heights influence the poses in little ways.

This is gorgeous~ I love the wrinkled paper texture. This is one of the most beautiful Kirk and Spock pictures I have ever seen. <33333 Lovely pose, the dark tones really add to it as well. I'll be reading the fic now XD

The texture is simply crinkling the tracing paper that the background is drawn on. It started as an accident and became a running theme.
