meant to get me acquainted with my new Schmincke Horadam watercolors. I looked up pictures which are mostly one color so that I could then explore the color and see how much range it has (washes only).I added of course accents of other colors too when there was a need of that.
added colors:
cadmium yellow light, 224: Burnt Sienna, permanent green olive, may green
naples yellow, 229: Burnt Sienna, Sepia brown
Permanent carmine, 353: ultramarine finest
Scarlet Red, 363: translucent yellow, paynes gray, may green

#1: You did a great job here ^^ I love the vibrancy of the yellow :3
#2: You painted the rock itself really good, like the perspective ^^ Maybe try to make it look more rough? (I have actually no idea how you could do that in this case, so I guess maybe experiment a bit and then tell me how you did it because I wanna know it too xD)
#3: It's really pretty. Roses are really difficult to master and you did an amazing job at drawing this rose :3
#4: It looks a little bit cartoony to me (but I think that's because it's a tulip, they always look cartnoony to me xD). Thats not a bad thing, I really like the painting :3

thank you :3 ironically the lemon yellow hue was too pale to draw lemon with it XD lmao
I think by now I would try to use what's called the dry brush technique. you take barely any color into your brush (medium to large size) and run it from side to side with the full length of it. this creates lovely rough edges ^^
I love this too ^^ was also pretty successful as part of the VD DA event ^^
omg yes XD haha tulips are like real fake flowers XD even adding that back petal in super dark didn't help all that much XD
