I can't stop thinking that if it become reality, it would be a gnu/linux killer app.
By the way, I think you should exchange the two lines of the 2nd picture. Create a new slide is what we do the more.
And I don't you how import a graph, create a graph sounds better in my mind.

It looks wonderful! It looks very simplistic and as though anyone could use it, but it's packs some pretty advanced features inside. I really hope this becomes a reality!

No, someone has only just started work on it as a side project, and Luna will be released soon, so no.

Very nice. It'd be nice to see Ease move in this direction
Aside: The one thing missing in presentation apps today is the ability to output a presentation as an executable with an embedded light-weight viewer. This is absolutely vital I feel for presentation fidelity. Different versions of presentation software often cause display quirks and the the right version is often not always available. One could always take along the right version as a portable app on a USB flash drive, but light-weight embedded executable would be nice all the same.

In theory you could probably make this all in HTML 5, which could be super awesome since then web publishing would be super easy.

There is/was an effort to develop a HTML/CSS based slide show system (with presentation controls baked in). It was called S5 ([link] ), though I'm not sure whether it's still in active development.
Even with a standards compliant S5-type presentation format however, I still think that it would be wise to include a light-weight (webkit based?) standards compliant viewer (the same as used by the software during WYSIWYG editing) to avoid any possible display quirks that might arise. Such is also convenient, not having to worry about being caught short in a presentation with a computer with only IE6-9.
But yes, I agree, a standards compliant HTML/CSS based presentation format would be great. HTML/CSS is, after all a presentation language and presentation fidelity (not document fidelity) is what matters with slide show presentations.

Looks sweet. Very different to the standard boring slideshow software out there.

I'm not sure how effective the 4th screen would be with longer presentations.

Maybe you could also have a grid view for longer presentations?

Excellent look, but I would make it a vertical carousel rather a horizontal one. Horizontal scrolling on a laptop is difficult, even though arrow keys would do the job.

spiceofdesign In reply to Mazenzo [2012-02-11 18:18:51 +0000 UTC]
The main reason for it is because some of the media types (i.e. documents and webpages will be longer than the height of a normal slide, so horizontal scrolling makes sense here.
